National Service Scheme (NSS)
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at Sanskriti College aims to instill the spirit of democratic leadership and social service among students. It provides a platform for students to engage in meaningful community work and contribute to nation-building activities.
Motto: "Not Me, But You"
This reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other person's point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings.
Objectives of NSS:
- Understand the community in which they work.
- Understand themselves in relation to their community.
- Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving processes.
- Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
- Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems.
- Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities.
- Gain skills in mobilizing community participation.
- Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes.
- Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters.
- Practice national integration and social harmony.

Typical NSS Activities:

Red Ribbon Club (RRC)
The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) at Sanskriti College is a voluntary on-campus intervention program for students. It aims to create awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote safe behaviors, and reduce stigma and discrimination associated with the condition. RRC also focuses on promoting voluntary blood donation.
Objectives of RRC:
- To reduce new HIV infections among youth by raising their risk perception through awareness on Sex, Sexuality and HIV & AIDS.
- To induce among youth the spirit to help and support people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) thereby reducing stigma and discrimination against PLHIVs.
- To motivate youth and build their capacity as peer educators and change agents by developing their skills on leadership, negotiation, and team building.
- To promote voluntary non-remunerated blood donation among youth.
